Henry’s first day on his latest warehouse project was anything but ordinary. As he stepped into the chilly cooler room, the air felt heavier than usual. Stacks of damaged pallets cluttered the space, one especially stubborn and oddly fused to the floor. Henry muttered to himself, feeling the weight of the task ahead.
Determined to get the job done, he retrieved the electric pallet jack from the warehouse. It groaned under the effort as he pried the pallet away, nearly breaking in the process. Finally, with a loud crack, the pallet released—revealing a strange opening beneath it. Henry’s eyes widened. The floor concealed a tunnel. And before he could process the discovery, a swarm of frogs erupted from the dark void, flooding the cooler with their frantic croaks.
Drawn by curiosity and the strange energy in the air, Henry lowered himself into the hole. The deeper he descended, the warmer and more oppressive the tunnel became. He shed layers, sweat stinging his brow, until he reached a vast cavern bathed in an eerie red glow. There, a silent assembly of frogs encircled a fiery lake, their gazes fixed on a bizarre statue at its center—a cat clutching a staff.
Henry watched in fascination as a jewel, ruby-red and gleaming, detached itself from the staff. The frogs parted, and the stone hit the ground. Suddenly, chaos erupted. The jewel trembled, and the frogs vanished, replaced by a thick red smoke. When the haze cleared, a mound of rubies glistened on the cavern floor. Henry, heart pounding, wondered what secret he had uncovered.
With caution, Henry pocketed a handful of the rubies, half-expecting something supernatural to happen. Finding nothing amiss, he climbed out of the tunnel, concealed the opening, and returned to the warehouse. His manager’s voice was a distant echo: “You good?” Henry replied, “Yup, just peachy,” masking the turmoil within.
That night, sleep eluded him. Frogs haunted his dreams, multiplying in every corner of his home. The next morning, his phone rang, waking him from a restless night. A mysterious caller informed him of a delivery waiting at his door.
Henry opened the door to an odd, frog-shaped package. Hesitant but amused, he unwrapped it, revealing a sparkling ruby frog inside. Bewildered, he laughed. Was this an elaborate prank or the next chapter in the puzzle?
Inspecting the ruby frog, Henry noticed something moving within. He pried open the frog and, to his astonishment, found his long-lost daughter inside. Tears streamed down his cheeks as she wrapped him in a warm embrace and whispered, “Daddy, I’m home!”
The ruby frog’s mystery had led Henry to the reunion he never expected, leaving only one question lingering in the shadows: What other secrets did the warehouse hold?
