How do you handle fear and self-doubt?
Fear: I handle fear by revealing the unknown. When I was little I was afraid of all the spiders. One day, I decided to read about them and learn how they work, what benefits they bring, and to help myself view them in a different light. After that I forged a deep loving relationship with all things scaly and crawly. Fear can be handled by trusting in yourself and the process, calculated and informed moves to an extent, and knowing about the thing that you fear. There are paths I have followed where I didn’t know what was going to happen, but staying in the same place was worse.
Self-doubt: I overcame this one quickly in my childhood. At times, it’s the creature that whispers into my ear, questioning what I’m doing and where I am going. But once I visualize it as something like a creature that I can tell to go away, it became easier to overcome. I realized the more I showed myself I could accomplish, the more I knew I could do. And the things that I’m unsure I can do, I focus on finding that way to accomplish it through learning and understanding.
